On June 6, 2025, Chen Jianxin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Urban Development and Cooperation Committee of the SCO National Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform, Chairman of the Belt and Road Economic and Trade Cooperation Alliance, and President of the Guangzhou Modern Information Service Industry Association, Yang Zhigang, General Manager of Dongfang International Supply Chain, a member unit of the Association, and the entire secretariat visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (hereinafter referred to as "GDUFS"). They were warmly received by Shen Minghao, Vice President and PhD Supervisor of GDUFS, Chen Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Area and Country Studies of GDUFS, Guan Huaping, Dean of the School of Economics and Trade of GDUFS, and other school leaders. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on multiple key issues, outlining a grand blueprint for future strategic cooperation.

At the exchange meeting, our Association reported to the school leaders of GDUFS on the recent work progress and key projects of the Association. Facing the complex and changing international economic and trade situation, our Association actively implements the "Belt and Road" initiative. Through multiple measures such as organizing international economic and trade docking meetings, building information exchange platforms, and carrying out policy research, it provides all-round support for the cooperation and development of member enterprises in the international market. A number of recent activities have achieved remarkable results, attracting the active participation of many enterprises and effectively promoting the docking and cooperation of domestic and foreign businesses.

During the exchange, the international medical project for going global became one of the important topics. Focusing on the fields of medical devices and pharmaceutical exports, this project aims to promote China's advanced medical technologies and pharmaceutical products to the international market. Our Association and the school leaders of GDUFS had in-depth discussions on the go-to-market strategies, market layout, cooperation models, and other aspects of the medical project.

The matters of the Global South and the "Belt and Road" Conference were also the core content of this exchange. As a university with distinct international characteristics, GDUFS has been actively participating in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and international exchange and cooperation. This time, our Association will join hands with GDUFS to jointly build a "Belt and Road" construction and "Global South Base".

In addition, both sides expressed their firm determination to continue promoting the deep integration of industry, university, and research. The School of Economics and Trade of GDUFS introduced the college's disciplinary advantages and scientific research achievements in the fields of international trade and digital economy. Both sides agreed that through strengthened cooperation, the talent advantages and scientific research strength of universities can be fully utilized to provide more innovative and forward-looking solutions for enterprises. The two sides plan to carry out extensive cooperation in talent training, internship training, scientific research project cooperation, etc., so as to cultivate high-quality talents who meet the needs of the international market, promote scientific research achievements to better serve the actual operations of enterprises, and help enterprises enhance their competitiveness in the international market.

This exchange further strengthened the cooperative relationship between our Association and GDUFS. The two sides will adhere to the concept of "sailing together" and work hand in hand to jointly empower enterprises to go global. In future cooperation, the two sides will give full play to their respective advantages and carry out all-round and in-depth cooperation in multiple fields such as talent training, scientific research cooperation, international exchanges, and project promotion, so as to help enterprises transform and upgrade and enhance their international competitiveness. This exchange activity was successfully concluded in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Both sides agreed to further strengthen communication and collaboration and establish a closer cooperative relationship. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation will achieve fruitful results, inject strong impetus into the construction of the "Belt and Road" and the development of Global South countries, and jointly create a better future.
